Endpin

As we explained at the Endpin-Cone, we highly recommend replacing these 10mm Endpin in stead of 8mm Rod. It is inexpensive upgrade to improve your Cello Sound.

We do not recommend any 8mm Endpin such as Weisshaar etc.
Because those 8mm Endpins are not enough mass volume of pin diameter for creating good cello sound.
10mm pin-350 g.(12oz.) has 175% mass v.s. 8mm pin- 200g.(7oz.) in steel pin.

The specific Gravity of materials also effect a lot for your Cello sound.

For example, gravity factor is as follows:

Steel:8,Carbon:2, Brass:9, Titanium:5, Tungsten:19, Gold:19

These are several different characteristics.

  1. Ebony endpin has many colors, rich. Suitable for Gut strings lovers.
  2. Carbon-fiber endpin by French Cello Bow is original made and using dense thick carbon chips in materials.
Rich, Brilliant and excellent tonal colors for all Cellists.
  3. Stainless Steel endpin has straight, focused and brilliant which is covered well-balanced all ranges higher to lower notes.
  4. Titanium endpin has vivid higher notes and superbly beautiful sound projection.
  5. Brass endpin is simply beautiful tonal colors and enhanced its core sound reaching to the end of concert hall.
  6. Tungsten endpin has strong, brilliant and rich sound. Weight: 1 kg (2 lbs)

Is 16mm Endpin unusual?

A famous Canadian Cellist- Yuri Turovsky(See this picture!)
is currently using 1685 Francesco Ruggieri with
a wooden thick Endpin like this.

16mm Endpin is x 2.56 larger mass vs. 10mm Endpin.
It is enhanced more stable, deeper and louder sound.

These 16mm Endpins become quite rare, a solid carbon makes warm and wood rare sound,
and a carbon core-brass tubing makes edged rich and warm sound.
